Spiced Pear and Quinoa Porridge
Enjoy this as a gluten free alternative to oats. You'll love the natural sweetness of the pear!
Ingredients
1/4 c Rinsed Quinoa
1/2 c water
1/2 c Unsweetened almond/ coconut milk
1 tsp Chia seeds
1 tsp Cinnamon / nutmeg
1/2 Grated pear
1 Tsp vanilla
(Serves 1)
Directions
1. Rinse the quinoa under cold water
2. Add the quinoa and water to a saucepan and simmer until the water absorbs
3. Add the pear, spices, vanilla and milk to the pan and simmer.
4. Spoon into a bowl and add some toppings.
Toppings:
1 Tbs Almond butter or tahini
A sprinkle of coconut or nuts and seeds
Note
If you don’t like pear, you could try apple or berries.
